WATER FUN!

BY: COACH SHANNON

With summer on the horizon, water activities are the perfect (and easy!) way to engage little ones. A simple way that you can do this is by putting water into a small bucket and allow your child to play with small cups or bowls. Teach them to fill each cup and then pour the water into another cup or back into the bucket. Although it seems like a simple activity, it actually helps to promote the development of fine motor skills while also keeping kids cool and playtime fun on hot late summer days.

BUBBLES!

One final outdoor activity that is a fan favorite among all the kids at Soccer Buddies is… BUBBLES!! Bubbles are an easy way to get littles of all ages moving. Start by blowing bubbles and encouraging your child to reach high or jump up to pop them. Incorporating a cool noise such as an explosion sound, a dinosaur roar or a simple “POP!” will add an extra level of fun. Alternatively, you can let your child be in control of the bubble wand and allow them to practice forming bubbles on their own. Whatever you choose, bubbles will catch your child’s attention and are guaranteed to make them smile. 😊
